1. What MOPPYE is — and isn't
MOPPYE is an online marketplace that connects clients who need cleaning services with independent cleaning professionals ("cleaners", zzp'ers) operating in the Netherlands, currently piloting in Amsterdam.
MOPPYE is not a cleaning company. We do not employ cleaners, we do not supervise how cleaning work is performed, and we are not a party to the cleaning service itself. The contract for the actual cleaning service is between the client and the cleaner directly.
MOPPYE's role is limited to: providing the platform for matching, processing the associated fixed fees, and facilitating communication between both parties.
2. For clients
2.1 How booking works
- You submit a cleaning request specifying service type, location (within our current coverage area), date, time, and duration.
- Your request is published on our public board for independent cleaners to view and freely choose to accept.
- You do not pay anything when submitting a request. Payment is only requested once a cleaner has accepted and set their rate.
- Once a cleaner accepts, you will receive an email to confirm and pay. The total amount consists of the cleaner's own hourly rate (which they set, not MOPPYE) multiplied by the agreed duration, plus a fixed MOPPYE service fee.
2.2 Cancellations
- You may cancel an OPEN request (not yet accepted) at any time, free of charge.
- Cancelling after a cleaner has accepted may affect the cleaner who has already committed time and paid a fee to accept your request — please cancel as early as possible if your plans change.
3. For independent cleaning professionals (cleaners)

- You set your own hourly rate for every job you choose to accept. MOPPYE never sets, suggests, or imposes a price on your behalf.
- You are free to browse the open requests board and accept or ignore any request, with no penalty for declining.
- You remain free to offer your services through any other platform, agency, or directly to clients of your own, with no exclusivity obligation to MOPPYE.
- You provide your own equipment and supplies, and determine how the work is carried out, within the scope agreed with the client.
- When you accept a request, you pay a fixed lead fee to MOPPYE — this is a flat amount per booking, never a percentage or share of your rate.
3.3 Verification
To maintain a trustworthy marketplace, every cleaner's KVK number is manually checked against the official Dutch Chamber of Commerce register before their account is approved. Accounts that cannot be verified, or where the registered activity is not compatible with cleaning services, will not be approved.
4. Fees — how they work
MOPPYE charges two separate fixed fees, paid only when a match actually happens. We do not charge a commission or percentage of the cleaner's rate.
These fees may be adjusted from time to time; the current amount is always shown clearly before any payment is requested.
5. Payments
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe. MOPPYE does not store your card details.
- Refunds for cancellations or disputes are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us using the details below.
- MOPPYE is not responsible for the quality of the cleaning service itself, as this is an agreement between the client and the independent cleaner.
6. Reviews
After a completed booking, clients may leave a review of their experience. Reviews are intended to help future clients make informed choices and are not used by MOPPYE as an automatic basis for restricting a cleaner's access to the platform.
7. Liability
MOPPYE provides the matching platform "as is". To the extent permitted by Dutch law, MOPPYE is not liable for:
- The quality, timeliness, or outcome of cleaning services performed by independent cleaners
- Any damage, loss, or dispute arising directly between a client and a cleaner
- Technical interruptions to the platform, though we aim to keep it available and will notify users of planned downtime where possible
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, particularly as MOPPYE expands beyond the Amsterdam pilot. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform.
